This release includes HD(720p) and SD(480p) in both QuickTime and MPEG1 formats.
PLUS
With IgniterBacks 05, we are releasing a NEW PRODUCT: IgniterBacksPlus. This is a collection of 10 Loops and 20 Stills that are formatted for multi-screen environments. Each Loop or Still is 1920×480 pixels. That is basically three Standard Definition screens wide — no scaling or cropping is necessary. So, it’s ideal for those of you with multiple screens. If you are currently using or are looking into the TripleHead2Go* from Matrox, IgniterBacksPlus will be the perfect compliment to your presentation setup.
IgniterBacksPlus media is 1920x480 so it won't be cropped or scaled.
* Check with your presentation software manufacturer to find out if the software will work with the TripleHead2Go.

We use a triple 720p projector setup. We’re considering getting the TripleHead2Go DVI which supports triple 720p resolution. I’m bummed to find out that your Plus product only supports SD resolution. I suppose not all systems would be able to handle a triple 720p video file, but we use an 8 Core Mac Pro, so I think we could. What’s the reason you only went SD with Backs Plus?

Thanks for the comment. We looked at the requirements for 720p x 3 and realized there are still a few hurdles at this stage of the game.
PROCESSOR POWER
Your computer sounds plenty capable of handling the load, but we found that the majority of computers using the TripleHead2Go wouldn’t be able to play the movies properly.
PRODUCTION
The time it takes to render one of the multi-screen loops increases by hours when rendering the 720p resolution. When we looked at creating the larger size, we almost decided not to based on render times alone.
RESOLUTION
I think many people using this option have been stretching and cropping standard 480p or 720p footage anyway so the 480p x 3 wide provides something that doesn’t have to be cropped or stretched. That keeps the quality pretty solid even on the 720p x 3 system that you guys have.
Also, most folks are using 480p anyway so 720p would be overkill for the majority of users. We look forward to creating higher resolution content in the future. However, the above constraints make it a better decision right now be able to reach the widest audience with this product.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
