Web Applications Developer

If you love all the different facets of web development, from back-end database and application coding to user interface design, all in a relaxed and flexible environment, then this is the job for you.

RT Media Group maintains four points-of-presence on the web: IgniterMedia.com, WorshipHouseMedia.com, CollideMagazine.com, and EchoConference.com. The right candidate will be enthusiastically involved in all web applications development at RT Media Group (including the sites above) and be able to weigh business decisions against technical ones. This person will participate in determining application requirements, software design, and implementation of the application.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement new web applications and the integration of existing web applications
• Maintain and enhance existing web applications
• Make recommendations about implementing the use of new tools or technologies as they serve to improve the development process and/or the web application user experience

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent (Computer Science or related field preferred)
• 3+ years web application development including application architecture and design
• Experience in enterprise-scale (not just a "jumble of scripts") development
• Expertise in one web development platform (such as .NET, Java, Ruby on Rails, ColdFusion) and the ability/desire to master a new development platform, if necessary
• Web design experience is a plus
• Good understanding of SQL
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

COLLIDE Magazine is seeking an editorial intern to assist us in the publication of our print magazine and in the generation of fresh content for collidemagazine.com.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Research current developments in media, technology, culture, and the Church
• Suggest and evaluate potential article topics
• Edit content for print and web
• Contribute reviews and stories for print and web

Qualifications:

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or communications
• Basic understanding and appreciation of the use of media and technology in the local church
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to write within the general style and tone of COLLIDE

Video Editor Intern / Motion Graphics Intern

If you are interested in telling stories through film and video or you have a love of motion graphics and compositing, we would love to have you at Igniter Media.
